  • The owner is super nice and friendly. Foods are amazing! Sashimi platter is quite nice and fresh, grilled ox tongue smells delicious and tasty. Tempura and eel fried rice taste good, too. Highly recommended.

  • homely Japanese food dished out by the most affable chef, who opened up in Doncaster East after decades operating Edoya in the cbd. one of my favourite places to eat Japanese and I usually leave it in the hands of the chef. definitely ask about the off menu items.

  • Came here out of curiosity to see what the restaurant has got to offer. Staff here are not Japanese which includes the chef. Pricing is way too high in my opinion but the serving size seems quite fair. I would say definitely try the salmon sashimi and the chicken katsu curry. It was fantastic how the chef prepared this dish despite not a Japanese origin. Apparently they would prefer cash for payment as they would offer you 5% discount if paying with notes and coins.

  • I had been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did. David and the team provided a lovely casual dining experience. The place was warm and welcoming. There was seven of us; and I was able to relax and enjoy the company of my family with ease. The food came out quick and delicious with a bit of the old school hospitality. My wife and I have decided to come back for a date night to try the Omakase!

  • The meal was pleasant with a good range of sushi and some cooked dishes. Everything was nicely presented and service was friendly. While some items stood out more than others, overall it was an average dining experience.

  • Gem of a place that is only just recently realised existed. Small but a character. Very friendly staff. Celebrated my wife's birthday and we all had an amazing time. Food is very good quality especually the sashimi. We also had the lobster which was delicious as sashimi and stir fried with udon noodles (my favourite dish). House sake was great. It isn't cheap but Japanese food generally isn't. Will definitely be going back
